Design of Question Paper
• Paper will be of two parts-Part-A and Part- B. Part A will be of fifty percent weightage i.e. 40 marks
• Part A will have all MCQs and will have internal choice of 33 percent in equal difficulty questions
• Part-A therefore will have 53 - 1 mark MCQs
• Part B will be of Descriptive type and have a weightage of fifty percent i.e. 40 marks
• Part B will have Short Answer ,Long Answer and Essay type questions with a choice of 33 percent(again 13-
14 marks)

Two unseen paragraphs of around 200 words out of
which only one needs to be attempted.
MCQs based on understanding,reasoning,analysis and

25 MCQs of equal difficulty level will be asked and 20
needs to be attempted.
Questions based on application and evaluation of

Main Course Book
Two Seen stanzas of around 100 words each from the
Poems out of which one to be attempted.
MCQs on each to test understanding of style, central
idea, tone, theme etc. Students may be asked to identify
various literary and poetic elements. Five MCQs out of
seven will be attempted from any one stanza.

Assessment :
The assignment/Project works need to be evaluated by the subject teacher and by another teacher
nominated by the Principal of the school. Both of these examiners will assess the assignments
independently. The total marks obtained out of 20 are to be sent to the Board by the Principal of the
school.
